In March 13 - 14, 2008 KITA BISA Project together with Jayawijaya District AIDS Comission held a Channel of Hope Workshop for GKI Tanah Papua Wamena leaders. About 38 participants involved in this workshop. Secondary assistant of Jayawijaya District Secretary Mr. Benyamin Arisoy M.Si lead the opening ceremony with a short speech about the increasing number of AIDS cases in Wamena Jayawijaya. He also addressed that prevention of AIDS can be done only by significant role of everyone. If nobody cares about this syndrome, then we might found in several years later there will be no more Jayawijayan ethnic or as we known as Lani tribe.
This activity took two days. Participants came from all branch churches or congregations around Wamena. About 7 churches sent their representative to join this workshop. After the workshop done, we hope further socialization will be done by the churches themselves.
